Recipe for Success
I’d like to thank Shannon; I probably wouldn’t be here today without her. When Shannon called me asking me to speak this speech, I thought “I don’t usually speak but I’m always good at Stampin’. I thought a while and thought of cooking tools that help me stamp, so that’s what my speech is about.
Recipe card
A Recipe Card always helps you know where you’re going and the steps you must take to get there. “If you don’t know where you’re going how do you know when you get there.”
Thirteen years ago when I started this job my goal was to sell $100 worth of stuff. Later my goal became $1000 worth of stuff. My goal became outgrown for I was sometimes making about $1,500 a weekend.
Wisk
A Wisk always reminds me to mix things up a little.
Back then I’d give away an $11.95 stamp set to anybody who booked a workshop. Soon it was off the budget. Then later on I used something you might have used before called book to look. And today I use an Easter basket where you pick a plastic egg and each one has a different coupon.
Spatula
There’s always a flipside.
When I first did classes I would charge $40.00 a class. They would get a stamp set, paper, and four projects. When people quit signing up for classes I wanted to do something different. The “Love ya much” bundle came out. Customers bought the bundle for a little more than $40.00. When they purchased the bundle I told them that the class was free. Now I have more people coming to my classes. They are doing the same thing for about the same amount of money but now they are interested again.
Scraper
Get all the cake batter out “saves time n, money.”
Use all your resources that save your energy and money. I always use the stampin’ UP website. That’s all I have to say today.
-there’s a handout on your table to help you decide what your recipe for success is.
